  • Todd Butera*

    ROGER

    is a founding member of New Ambassador's Theater Company. Recently seen as an actor playing Mistress Popo in Inside and Out as well as Eddie in Faultlines, by David Adam Gill. Past roles include; off Broadway on stage alongside Tony-Nominated Lou Liberatore in "Gay. Porn. Mafia", the Audience Award Winner at the 2018 Downtown Urban Arts Festival. Providence by David Adam Gill at the Roy Arias Theater, Macpherson at The Lion Theater in Resonance Ensemble’s What Happened Then Dr. John Watson at The Workshop Theater’s production of The Blue Carbuncle, Off Broadway as Governor Bullard in the Abingdon Theater’s production of My Deah, co-starring Tony Award nominee Nancy Opel; directed by Marc Waldrop of When Pigs Fly fame. He has also performed in Funeral Games at the Public Theater and as Axel in HERE Theater’s production of The Pelican. At the NY International Fringe Festival he played Botticelli in Amanda DuBois production of Burning Botticelli, and as 7 or so various characters in Paul Lucas’ production of Messages for Gary. Mr. Butera has worked at the Promenade Theater with Evan Yionoulis in Flights of Angels. Film roles include: Jimmy in Broker The Priest in Confessions of a Paralyzed Robot; on Television Mr. Butera can be seen in Alien Dawn as Dr. Luther, on All My Children and other Prime Time shows.

    A Founding member, Marie Eléna has appeared in New Ambassadors' TO DATE, BIBBIDI BOBBIDI BOOS (HeartBroke), BETTER ANGELS (OctoberFEARfest), EXPERIMENTING WITH KATZ (TheatreLab), EPHEMORY LANE, GUNS & AMMUNITION (Blurring Boundaries) and FAULT LINES for which she was awarded Best Actress (Secret Theatre). Other recent productions: Mandy Murphy's VALER (She NYC ARTS), MINOR DEVIATIONS (Estrogenius), FROZEN FOODS (Nylon Fusion), ROUND WENT THE WHEEL (Broadway Bound Theatre Festival) and an all-female identifying production of RICHARD III with Blunt Ensemble. Marie Eléna is a proud member of AEA, The PlayGround Experiment and NY Madness.

    LouBEE

    clicked her heels together 3 times, closed her eyes and repeated “there’s no place like home”, woke up in Manhattan and has been here ever since. As an actor one of her passions is originating a role on stage. She is thrilled to have the privilege of doing that with the role of LuBEE in New Ambassadors’ upcoming production of “Irregulars” Representative roles NY: Masha “ Vanya & Sonia & Masha & Spike” Axial Theater; Gertrude “Hamlet” Nuance Theater; Mrs Antrobus “The Skin of Our Teeth” American Bard Theater Company; Violet Weston “August Osage County” Axial Theater Film: Return; Happy Birthday Lady; Little Man of the House. And as always thanks to Scott for his love and support and for running my lines with me.

  • Jonathan Peck

    STEPHEN

    A New York-based actor and a graduate from the William Esper Studio class of 2017. After graduating he has gone on to produce three plays, first producing and starring in his first New York off-off broadway production Tape by Stephen Belber. Split Second was his second full production and has gone on since to produce multiple shows off off-broadway before the pandemic. Before attending Willam Esper, he attended SUNY University at Albany; attaining his BFA in Philosophy and Theatre. Previous theatre credits are Orpheus in Eurydice, Pool boy in Legally Blonde the Musical, Otto in the musical Spring Awakening, Tolbert Lee in an original play, An American Tree and Val Johnson in Split Second . He is currently in the midst of creating his own production company. Also apart of multiple organizations providing mutual aid to underfunded communities within NYC via food, education, clothes etc.

  • John Peña Griswold

    is a writer, actor, and director who studied at Yale University and William Esper Studio. John was a founding member of the experimental comedy troupe ‘His Majesty, the Baby’, performing original theater pieces at Dixon Place, The Duplex, and NYCFringe Festival. Past plays include AUTOBIOGRAPHY (Blurring Boundaries Festival), DEATHBED (Fearfest), and ONE NIGHT ONLY (Heartbroke). John created, wrote, and produced the television pilot GOOD MOURNING and the audio play series THE GREAT ESCAPISM with collaborator and partner Jennifer Downes. John is a proud member of the New Ambassadors Theatre Company and regular contributor to Naked Angels. @johnwritesandacts

  • Eric Svendsen

    CHRISTOPHER

    is an actor and founding member of the Where Are They Going Theatre Co. He starred in the role of Max Emerson in WATG’s critically acclaimed production of Extinction at Guild Hall. Eric performed in the debut performance of John Patrick Shanley’s play Japanese Porno. His credits also include a role in Mandi Riggi’s Leviticus as well as a staged reading of Are You Now or Have You Ever Been at Guild Hall directed by Harris Yulin and starring James Earl Jones, Matthew Broderick and a slew of other legends of the stage and screen. He has also starred in a successful debut production of Spectacle BMX produced by The Powers Collective. In addition to his work with WATG, Eric is a member of Barefoot Theatre Co and has been involved with productions at Rogue Machine Theater Company in Los Angeles and Naked Angels in New York. His credits include starring roles in Auto Parts by Steve Stajich as well as A Child's Christmas in Wales by Dylan Thomas and the award-winning original performance of Sailorboy by Neville Elder. He is a graduate of Northwestern University where he majored in theatre.

  • Jeff Checkley

    PRODUCER

    One of the founders of New Ambassadors Theatre Company. Jeff has been involved with the company since the beginning. He has acted as an associate producer as well as executive producer for a number of the company’s productions, be it a festival or a feature length. He is an author of short stories as well as a playwright and has also performed in a number of the company’s plays. Prior, Jeff could be seen in Print Ads as well as Commercial work for such companies as Ralph Lauren, AT&T and Prudential just to name a few.

    Jeff was introduced to David Adam Gill some 6 years ago and with Carla Bresco, the New Ambassadors Theatre Company was formed. Over the past five years the company has grown and expanded. Our body of original and innovative work sustain us as a company. Jeff has said “I could not be more proud of the work, determination and incredible work that this amazingly talented company produces year after year.

  • Jennifer Downes

    ASSOCIATE ARTISTIC DIRECTOR/PRODUCER

    Jennifer Downes is a Producer, Writer, and Actor. Under the New Ambassadors Theatre Company umbrella, she has produced two full-length plays at the historic Cherry Lane Theatre, five short play festivals at various venues, as well as two non-stage projects during the 2020/2021 theatre shutdown: Blurring Boundaries 2021, a filmed short works presentation of six plays adapted for video, and The Great Escapism, a two-season narrative anthology audio series, currently available on all major podcast platforms.

  • Maile Binion

    LIGHTING DESIGNER/PROGRAMS DIRECTOR

    is an actor, techie, producer, and creative originally from New Orleans, LA. She graduated from the Louisiana State University Theatre Program before moving to New York. She is thrilled to have accepted her new role as New Ambassadors’ Programs Director. She was most recently seen in BLURRING BOUNDARIES 2021 and HEARTbroke 2022, both NATC Productions.
